How do I wash / care for my new naturally dyed textiles?

Naturally dyed textiles are dyed with living plant botanicals that are not like typical commercial dyes. Because of this, naturally dyed textiles can be subject to fading over time or from Sun + heat damage. For best keep it is suggested to gently hand wash in cold water with a gentle / pH neutral detergent ( like Synthrapol) . Air dry and store out of direct Sun.

Each textile is a unique expression of plant color and the imperfections and impermanence are all honored in the natural dye experience. No textile is exactly alike! With that said, all textiles are pre-treated to help ensure a colorfast finish.

I just ordered: when can I expect my package?

All orders (excluding Made To Order Items) placed before 2:00 PM M-F EST ship same day.

Orders (excluding Made To Order Items) placed after 2:00 PM on Friday ship that following Monday.

All orders are shipped and subject to standard USPS priority mail shipping times. Each order will be sent a USPS tracking link for updates once fulfilled.

Made To Order processing + shipping times vary by item.

Made To Order items are typically processed and shipped within 1-2 weeks. This will be further communicated upon order. A USPS tracking link will be sent for updates once fulfilled.

Does self seed studio accept custom orders?

Yes! We are currently open for commissioned works. Some items Self seed has commissioned in the past include t-shirts + baby onesies. Please inquire about all custom works through our contact page form.
